Northern Slant exists to encourage constructive changes in Northern Irish political and civic discourse. We’re always looking for better ways to do this, and to showcase a wide range of perspectives from contributors across our three categories: politics, community and lifestyle.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic emerged, the way we live and work, plus the landscape and pace at which we consume news and analysis, has continued to change. As a volunteer-led organisation, determined to enhance the quality and impact of our content we’ve come to realise that Northern Slant needs to change too.

We spent part of the lockdowns developing our mission and purpose. From now on we will take a thematic approach to content deepening our focus on a selection of key questions across our three categories.

Over the coming months we will explore how to promote longer-term thinking, in relation to our politics, governance and citizenship.

We want everyone at Northern Slant – our editorial team, wider community of contributors, partners and followers – working together to help identify and explore the themes and questions that speak to who we are and what we want for our society. Our door is always open to suggestions – please feel free to get in touch via our Contact Us page.
