Event description

Twenty years after the Good Friday Agreement, what is the long-term impact of the Troubles on Northern Ireland? What will it take to move the frozen peace process forward?

Join Northern Slant Editor Connor Daly, author Vicky Cosstick and guests to discuss her upcoming e-book Don’t Mention the War: Exploring Aspects of the Legacy of the Northern Ireland Troubles and examine the role and responsibilities of political and other leaders in our society who can help ‘unfreeze’ the peace.

Vicky Cosstick‘s work encompasses research and essays about the legacy of the conflict in Northern Ireland on the 20th anniversary of the Good Friday/Belfast Agreement supported by Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust funding. It includes chapters on gender, systemic trauma and the role of the media in post-conflict Northern Ireland, with artworks by Rita Duffy. She is also author of the book Belfast: Toward a City Without Walls (Colourpoint 2015).

Articles from Vicky Cosstick already published on Northern Slant can be found here.
